Red Bean and Short Rib Chili/ Kasha and Bowties

Meal 1: Short Rib Chili, Yeasted Corn Bread, Mixed Greens Salad.
·        Heat the chili gently.
·        Cut the bread into thick slices and toast in too much butter.  It brows nicely.
·        Dress and serve the salad.


Meal 2: Kasha and Bowties, Beets with Parsley Butter, Braised Savoy Cabbage w. Carrots
·        Butter butter, oil or other favored fat and a nonstick or well seasoned pan.  When hot, add the kasha and bowties and toss a little.  Allow to cook and brown lightly, toss, allow to heat through and serve. 
·        Melt the parsley butter over medium heat.  When the butter sizzles add the beets and toss.  Allow to heat though with a little lidding if you like.  Season and serve.

·        Gently heat the cabbage and carrots in a sauce pan.  Add a little liquid if necessary and adjust the seasoning if you do.
